1986:  26-1 record

The 1985 Ardsley High School baseball team was one of the best teams in school history.  They were riding high with an incredible 22-1 record heading into the regional final game against Marlboro.  They held a comfortable lead heading into the final inning, however Marlboro staged a comeback and the Panthers lost in heartbreaking fashion.  It was then that the team set the goal to win it all the next season......which they did.  Using impressive power at the plate, a great pitching staff and a strong defense, they only lost one regular season game (to Pelham) and rolled into sectional play with 18 wins.  Sectional play opened up with victories over Rye Neck and Blind Brook before meeting Eastchester for two more wins and the Section 1 Class C title.  The team would avenge the '85 loss to Marlboro by defeating them 9-3 in the Regional semi-finals and then went on to beat Hampton Bays 4-2 to earn a trip to the state final four.  They would face a 17-3 Newark Valley team in the state semi-finals.  That team was led by an undefeated pitcher, but on that day Ardsley's pitching and flawless defense was better as the Panthers prevailed 7-0. Later that afternoon, the team secured their first ever state baseball  championship by beating Adirondack Central by the score of 6-5.  They were nationally ranked 24 after the season.  They not only avenged that 1985 loss to Marlboro up in Utica, NY that year, but they now kicked off the first of what would be four consecutive Class C state titles.
